Hello friends, this is a tough time for whole world. But we should not panic.I believe everyone of us know about the nobel Corona virus or Covid-19 which has spread across the geographical boundaries. Most of the software companies across the globe have asked its employees to work from home.
I personally don’t like working from home due to multiple reason. The most important reason is that I don’t have a good setup at my home. By setup means I don’t have a dedicated computer table and comfortable office like chair.
But for some days I should be fine by using my small dining table as my temporary work setup. Though my wife is quite unhappy with this decision.
As you can see in the below picture my temporary work place.
How to be more productive
There are couple of things I am taking care of while doing this work from home session
- Be positive: Though it is quite easy to be overwhelmed and feel exhausted by the situation. But it always helps to be positive and do our bit to contain and prevent the spread of this virus. You can think that by staying at home we are playing a major role to prevent spread of the deadly virus.
- Have an comfortable working place setup: It would be very much compelling and you will be attracted to work on your bed or sofa. But having a not good posture can cause you fatigue in short time. If you don’t have office chair, you can use your dining table and chair with proper back support just like me :).
- Use extra time wisely: By not going to office we are saving a lot of time by not getting ready or commuting. We should use this time to have more productive. Utilize this time and learn some thing new. We can spend more time with our family and loved ones.
- Have more physical activity: By not going to office and sitting at home we are lacking the physical movements. Make sure you are compensating these movements by doing some exercises at home. May be doing some push ups , sit ups and planks can help you to stay active and maintain the strength and vitality of the body.
- Eating healthy: I have a bad habit of snacking while I stay at home. Since I will be at home for god knows how many days, this habit can cost me dearer. I will make sure to eat more fruits and stay hydrated all the time.
- Have an outside stroll: Sitting whole day in front of laptop in the confines of your home can be very boring and tiring. I am making sure that I go at least once to have a evening walk.
These are some of the points I am making sure to stay positive and active for my work from home days.
And the most important point we have to consider while we are facing tough times is not to panic and stay calm.
